As we enter July, this means we are now counting down the days until tryouts!! And since we are now in July, this also means that you can start getting your athletic packet filled out! Please download and print off the 2019-20 Athletic Packet, and follow the directions. Our amazing Athletic Director Mr. Ryder has created a cover page for you, that helps walk you through all the different requirements of the packet. You can complete all of the packet and turn it in to the coaching staff at any point prior to tryouts. The only piece that you will have to wait on, is paying the tryout fee, on school cash online. WE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTING CASH, OR CHECK. This must be completed online, and will most likely be available around July 24 or 25. If you complete the packet and submit it before this point, please just print off a copy of your receipt and bring it to the coaching staff on the first day of tryouts!
Varsity Tryouts will be held July 29-31, from 6-8:30 pm each night in the Bobcat gymnasium. You must have the athletic packet completed, including current athletic physical, copy of your birth certificate if you are an incoming freshmen, or transfer student new to Boca High, before you will be able to tryout. Tryouts are open to any current Boca High School students, currently enrolled at BRHS.
Freshmen and JV tryouts will be held the first three days of school, Aug 12-14. The tryouts will be held directly after school, until 6 pm each of the three days. If you are trying our for multiple teams (ie Varsity at the end of July and then JV in August), you only need to pay one tryout fee.
IF you have any questions or concerns, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org, or feel free to reach out to our athletic director, Matthew Ryder, if you have any problems completing the Athletic packet.
Have a great summer!!

Coach Brett Sikora
Now that club season is over, it's time to start thinking about high school season. July is a great time to get back in training and improving mode, trying to make improvements as an individual since the last several months have been all about the game play. Remember, we value the growth and the improvement, and winning is simply an outcome that is achievable by us becoming the best individuals, and teammates that we can be.
That being said, there are many great volleyball opportunities for you to receive great instruction, and improve as a player heading into tryouts. July is a time when colleges host their camps, and as a recruitable athlete, it's also great for you to get on campus, and see what the colleges have to offer, and put yourself in front of the coaching staff to prove what you've got! If you aren't in for driving all over, there are some great camps at local colleges like Nova Southeastern , Florida Atlantic University, as well as others around the state. At Boca High, we use the Gold Medal Squared (GMS) volleyball principles, to guide our training, our feedback, our practice structure, our skills, and our competition. Tribe volleyball club hosts an elite GMS high school training camp July 8-11, from 9am -4pm daily, and offers a Boca High School volleyball discount of 25% by entering the code bobcats19 at checkout, and there are usually many returning bobcat volleyball players that attend this camp, as a tune up and way to train themselves in preparation for high school. There are other clubs around as well, that provide lots of great volleyball training during the summer. You are not required to attend any of the specific camps, and in no way will your attendance at any of these camps be included in your evaluation towards making a BRHS volleyball team.
Please follow @brhs_bobcatvolleyball on insta for volleyball news and updates as well!!
