Boca Raton High School
Principal Dr. Susie King and athletic director Lance Neinas would like to announce the hiring of Brett Sikora to the Bobcat athletic department. Coach Sikora will be taking over the girls volleyball program starting Monday July 3rd, 2017. While Coach Sikora has had great success at the collegiate and club level, this will be his first head coaching position at the high school level. He will be taking over a program from Coach Angermeier (Krnjiasch) that went 205-53 in her nine years as the head coach that included 2 FHSAA State Championships, 7 District titles, and sent numerous student athletes to the next level. "I just want to say thank you to Dr. King and Mr. Neinas for giving me the opportunity to take on such a great program," Sikora said.
Coach Sikora is no stranger to coaching volleyball. For the past two years, he has been the assistant girls volleyball coach at Jupiter High School as well as being involved with Tribe club volleyball in the area. Jupiter being one of the fiercest rivals with the Bobcats, has had success against the Bobcats over the past few years. He will now have an opportunity to see the other side He is very eager to get the keys to the gym and continue to build on the success of Coach Angermeier's program. "He will be stepping into the hardest schedule Boca has ever seen." Angermeier said. "I would just like to thank Dr. Mckee for giving me the opportunity to coach and teach at Boca High. I wish Coach Sikora and the girls the best of luck this season." It will all get kicked off with the Nike Tournament of Champions in Phoenix AZ. 96 of the top teams in the nation will play over the course of two days. From there we will see more competition at the Venice and Swing for the Cure tournament. It will all be wrapped around a District and County schedule that provide challenges for the first year coach.
Conditioning will start very soon. Check back for updates, they will be posted as soon as possible. Students and parents can complete the 2 required summer conditioning forms found under the forms tab. Athletic packets will be due the first day of tryouts, but may be handed in earlier to the head coach only. They can also be download under the forms tab located above. Athletic insurance will be available via on-line school cash on July 17th.
Coach Sikora can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information about summer conditioning as well as practice and tryout times in August.
